Ingredients

  • 500 gms - Chicken (Boneless)
  • 50gm - Alco Butter Chicken Gravy
  • 2 - Onion (medium-sized, finely chopped)
  • 2 - Tomatoes medium-sized, finely chopped
  • Ginger - 1-inch piece, finely chopped
  • 4-5 - Cloves Garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 Cup - Fresh Cream 
  • 50 gms - Butter 
  • 2-3 tbsp - Oil 
  • Salt - To taste
  • Water - As required

METHOD

  • In a large bowl, take the boneless chicken pieces and sprinkle some salt over them. Mix well and keep aside.
  • Heat a pan on medium heat and add 2-3 tablespoons of oil to it. Once the oil is hot, add the finely chopped onions to it and sauté until they turn golden brown in color.
  • Now, add the finely chopped ginger and garlic to the pan and sauté for a few minutes until the raw smell of ginger and garlic goes away.
  • Next, add the finely chopped tomatoes to the pan and cook until they become soft and mushy. Once the tomatoes are cooked, turn off the heat and let the mixture cool down for a few minutes.
  • Take a blender and transfer the cooked onion, ginger, garlic, and tomato mixture to it. Blend the mixture to make a smooth paste.
  • Now, take a large pan or a kadhai and add 50 gms of butter to it. Once the butter starts melting, add the boneless chicken pieces to the pan and sauté for a few minutes until the chicken is cooked.
  • Once the chicken is cooked, add the blended tomato mixture to the pan and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Now, take the instant butter chicken mix packet and add it to the pan. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Add some water to the pan to adjust the consistency of the curry. Mix well and let the curry come to a boil.
  • Once the curry comes to a boil, reduce the heat and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  • After 5-7 minutes, add a cup of fresh cream to the pan and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat and let the butter chicken curry rest for a few minutes.
  • Garnish with some fresh cream and coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with some naan or rice.
